How ridiculous is it that the simplest jobs require a licence while probably the most difficult, challenging, and long-term one requires no licence at all! You have to have a licence to fry eggs in a restaurant. You have to have a licence to create and sell crafts. You even have to have a permit to run a lemonade stand! But no licence is required to give birth to a child and to parent that child for the next 20 years. Now, how ridiculous is that?!

No wonder so many people suffer from parenting errors. The mistakes that uninformed young parents (in their teens or twenties) make sometimes sets in motion a lifetime of distortions, headaches, suffering which would have neer occurred if the parents had been more informed about parenting and child development psychology. Unknown to many young parents, to effective parent requires a lot understanding and skill.
