Many of my executive’s coaching clients face frequently the challenge of being better influencers due to their new leadership stand. Some challenges: People do not seem to commit to their responsibilities. They rather do the least to maintain their jobs. Some others tend to oppose, resist and sabotage their leader s propositions

So if we were to build scenarios: from full resistance on one extreme to full commitment on the other. Leaders face the challenge to push and pull their direct reports to full commitment in order to “voluntarily endorse and support to caring out their tasks,” their position or projects.

What Does “Influence” Mean? The Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) has a very precise definition :“The power and ability to personally affect other’s actions, decisions, opinions or thinking .” The main frame: Leadership is influence. Coaching these clients to become better influencers, means as well, coaching them to become better leaders.
