META-DETAILING TO GET THE SUBJECT

When it comes to the coaching skill of getting the subject and then, from there, getting the outcome, the skill involves the thinking skill of meta-detailing. Here you are “going meta” and thinking in terms of one of the meta-levels. Here also you are “chunking down” to ground things in sensory-based information, therefore you are applying the Meta-Model of Language and doing what we call “clarification questions.”

Meta-Detailing means that you are zooming into the specific descriptions and details of a subject and simultaneously, zooming out to get the larger perspective. What is meta-detailing?
