That we will disagree with each other from time to time is inevitable —and good. At the point of disagreement, we come to a place where maps about the territory differ. Often it gives us an expanded view that enriches everyone’s perspective. It also gives us a place for discovering the ways of thinking, the logics, and the psycho-logics used to draw different conclusions.

For this we can celebrate that disagreement is a place for learning rather than arguing. We can use it to learn from each other. We can use it as a place to practice the basic communication skills of NLP—creating and keeping rapport, seeking first to understand, realizing we are all often wrong and have many distortions in our thinking, open to feedback and other perspectives, etc.
