AS YOU THINK, SO WILL THEY
An amazing fact is that none of us—not a single one of us—was born thinking.
An amazing fact is that none of us—not a single one of us—was born thinking. We all learned to think. And where did we learn to think? From whom did you learn to think? Yes, you got it—in your childhood home and from your parents! Equally amazing is that at the beginning we are all so impressionable. Well, when we are born into the world, we know nothing. We can do nothing. We understand nothing. We have no programs at all. Compared to the animals, we are born so weak, so vulnerable, so defenseless—we are at a tremendous disadvantage. But we do have one advantage—we learn. We have an incredible “instinct” for learning.
No matter what language is spoken in your childhood, or even how many languages—within two years, your learning abilities transform you into a little linguist—you speak the language. And in another year, you will be fluent in however many languages you hear. That’s your speaking and verbalization abilities. So what about your thinking competencies? Well, that’s another story. While that depends, to a small part, on the languages you inherit, it mostly depends on the quality of thinking of your parents and siblings.
