If you can speak, you can write! At least you can learn to write. After all, what is writing? It is a written form of a person’s ideas, thoughts, understandings, statements, stories, and experiences. So if you can put thoughts together and present them to a group of people, you can learn to write them down in a coherent way so what you say can be preserved and sent out to increasingly more people.

Now doesn’t that first paragraph expell any of those excuses against writing? Excuses like, “But I’m not a writer.” “But I’m not good at grammar.” “But I don’t know what to say.” The fact is, if you let these excuses hold you back from writing down your thoughts, then they should just as equally stop you from training. If you’re not good at grammar, then what are you doing when you’re speaking? If you don’t know what to say, then why are you standing up and opening your mouth?
