EMPOWERING LEARNERS THROUGH NEURO-SEMANTICS

A year ago, Mariana (32), our goddaughter and other colleagues were participating in a religious recollection for a couple of weeks in a facility in the mountains at a neighboring state. At the weekend, she and four other girls went out to visit the “Dessert Museum” nearby. They took the highway down, facing a traffic blockage full of heavy trucks and equipment running downward. They stopped between two very large trucks. A minute later, a third truck coming downhill impacted the one just behind them, and in a second the truck behind them crashed theirs and compressed their small car against the one in front. Four out of five passengers were killed instantly including Mariana. Four families experienced a great loss and went into mourning. The only survivor has gone through very intense physical and emotional therapies up to now. The third truck driver, 21, is in jail facing criminal charges.
In the last five months I have been involved in a process of helping in designing learning experiences for a workshop to deliver to truck drivers in the construction industry. This industry has experienced incidents that go from car scratches to fatalities for decades, like Mariana’s case.
