Do you have a strong sense of self-esteem and self-confidence? Does your sense of self give you the self-confidence and strength to become resilient?

At an early age, when we begin to create our mind’s map of who we are, we see ourselves through others’ eyes. Over time, we develop our sense of “self,” that when strong, becomes the mind stabilizer that helps us bounce back from hardship to become resilient. In Neuro-Semantic (Hall 2002, 2019, 2020), we recognize that we experience that sense of “self” at multiple levels and roles in our life: experiential, attentional, observer, evaluative, intentional, director, and so on.

At a very young age, that sense of self becomes the identity we present as our role to others. This process helps us organize the way we respond, our actions, and help us attract and entice the things we believe in— “our self-fulfilling prophesy” that you often identify with experiences, ideas, people, things and so on. This connection can become part of your identity, which can be a great benefit to you and others, or be a traumatic nightmare of insanity (Korzbyski,1995).
