What sets successful innovators apart is their ruthless persistence in experimenting. Delivering innovative results is crucial in science as well as in Neuro-Semantics, where we experiment while training, coaching, or consulting. Active self-actualization learning involves experimenting and creating value for others.

How do we approach experimenting? By seeking an understanding of the present situation: the what it is questions, and also exploring the past with the what it was questions. This approach helps us define the big what do you want, the question of intentionality to pursue a well-formed outcome. Then, by experimenting with the what-if questions, we assist the client in co-creating the path forward to achieve her desired outcome.

How do you rate your experimenting skills while using the what-if questions? With a critical thinking frame, innovators ask what if questions while exploring unusual associations in search of discoveries. They experiment with the well-formed outcome and meta-questions, observe others' verbal and non-verbal cues, and network across disciplines. By modifying the present situation, disruptive innovators experiment by testing new ideas. By taking things apart, they understand how things work. Then, by developing prototypes, they test their novel ideas by observing the changes generated by the new data.
