A few years ago I discovered that I needed to do that would be a new thing in Neuro-Semantics. I needed to groom future leaders! The amazing thing was that I realized this even before I had come to terms with my own leadership role. Later, in 2002 I remember when Michelle Duval trying to interview me at the very first Meta-Coach training in Sydney, I say trying because I wasn’t the easiest person to interview about that. She began asking leadership questions of me, I was not prepared to answer. Why not? Because I didn’t think of myself as a leader.

And yet, several years prior to that I knew that “we” needed to develop leaders among “us” if we were to succeed. That’s why I pulled Bob Bodenhamer and Robert Olic together in 1996 to launch Neuro-Semantics, and why I called a group of people together in 1997 as “The Dreamers” groups to lead Neuro-Semantics. The Dreamers group didn’t work in terms of leadership for a number of reasons, but it did help me think through the process of leadership and of grooming leaders.
