META-PROGRAM THINKING FOR SOLUTIONS

In the past two posts, I have invited you to image watching an expert problem-solver at work. I have invited you to begin noticing how that experts sets an outcome, defines the problem, and then create a solution. The question is: which set of meta-programs does she rely on for being creative, coming up with many creative possibilities, choosing the best solution, testing it, and using it to invent a robust solution which will be sustainable?

#L. Intentionality, Focused. As the expert sets an intention in a focused way on the desired solution that will achieve the goal, do the same. What is your desired solution? What solution are you guessing might work?

#35. Toward. In developing solutions, focus on moving toward what you want, not what you want to avoid. It’s the positive representation that gives you a specific target to aim for.

#6. Optimism. Solutions are products of an attitude of thinking optimistically and believing you can and will find answers and solve the problems. In any and all of the ups-and-downs involved in finding a slution—you have to stay optimistic. Otherwise, you’ll be defeated.

#D. Empowered. Part of your optimism needs to be about your inner powers or capacities to make a difference. View your circumstances as what challenges you, not what controls you. Focus your perception on empowering yourself with the resources that yu need. Develop yuur inner sense of competence.

#C. Quality: Abundance. Here’s another aspect of optimism— start from the attitude of abundance, “There’s plenty of ways to solve problems, and plenty of resources.” The attitude of scarcity creates all kinds of limitations in terms of developing great solutions.

#36. Options. When you start, create numerous options and alternatives, then check your criteria for which one offers the best solution at this time, and when you are ready, give up opting for options as you stick with one solution that will make a difference and solve the problem.

#40. Optimizing. Do not wait until things are perfect or flawless, optimize at every step. Do what you can and leave it at that.

#17. Convention: Non-Conformist. Aim to stretch out of your comfort zone so that you are not seduced to conform by peer-pressure. Be your own best thinker.
