At NSTT we not only learned and were taught great platform skills but we had the chance of modelling great trainers in action; Colin, Michael, the other trainers who co-facilitated as well as our fellow trainees. So while what we were ‘taught’ stopped at the end of the training (which is why re-visiting NSTT is so valuable), we are left with the ability to model other great presenters we may come across in our lives.

I had the opportunity recently to do just this. I was lucky enough to attend a two hour presentation – which included activities – by an incredibly talented presenter, one of the best I’ve ever seen. An enthralling, captivating trainer. So who was it? Was it a highly paid professional speaker at a prestigious international event for world leaders? Not really. The actual presentation was by an SPCA officer at the local animal rescue centre. And the audience? A bunch of five to seven year old school kids (and some of us parents).
