THE WIIFM OF COLLABORATION
WIIFM stands for ‘What’s In It For Me’.
WIIFM stands for ‘What’s In It For Me’. Michael and others in this forum frequently write on collaboration. But it seems to me that in many instances—Neuro-Semantic trainings and others —the spirit of collaboration is lost to the mindset of scarcity. So I decided to spell out why I think people are so afraid of collaborating. And what I feel is ‘in it for me’ as a person who does collaborate with other trainers.
I think the reasons for the scarcity mindset are rooted in fear: I’m afraid the other trainer will ‘steal’ my students. I’m afraid I’ll only get half of the profit. I’m afraid the other trainer will be better than me. I’m afraid it’ll be seen as I can’t do it alone, that I’m a failure in business.
Can you think of any others? I’m sure there are many other fears, but I’ll give my ideas on these. I’m afraid the other trainer will ‘steal’ my students.
