TRAINING PEOPLE FOR LONG-TERM ACQUISITIONS
When it comes to training people, the two foci we all deal with are knowledge and skills.
When it comes to training people, the two foci we all deal with are knowledge and skills. That is, we train people so that they know more, understand conceptual information, and so that they are able to develop the skills needed so that they can effectively use the information. Now in Neuro- Semantics, from the very beginning — we have put a lot of emphasis on keeping these two joined. Keeping knowledge and skills joined enables people to close the knowing–doing gap. And as they close that gap, they not only implement what they know— they also become implementors. They develop a bias for acting on what they know. That’s what I train for— I hope it is what you train for.
But how do we do that? What do you actually do to facilitate that? What training conditions do you set up to do that? How successful are you in designing your trainings to achieve that?
