WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL ABOUT COLLABORATION?
Since the beginning of Neuro-Semantics, collaboration has been front and center.
Since the beginning of Neuro-Semantics, collaboration has been front and center. And no wonder— Neuro-Semantics started as a collaboration. Bob and I put our heads together to “take NLP to a higher level.” That was our intention and our vision. From the beginning and over the years I have written about and spoken about the importance of coordinating what we’re doing, cooperating to do things together, and collaborating as colleagues.
But why? Why is this such a big deal? Or why do I think it is such a big deal? Apart from the fact that we can do so much more together than alone or apart, collaboration creates a credibility for what we’re doing. After all, NLP is a communication model and we communicate so that we can have a union with (co-union) others in understanding, appreciation, agreement, activity, etc. Collaborative gives evidence that the communication model works. We can and do use it to communicate, to get along, to create a community. Without collaboration, people scratch their heads and wonder, “If NLP is so great, how come you guys can’t communicate more effectively? How come you don’t get along and work together?”
