WHEN NLP IS USED TO PROMOTE NON-SENSE
I have just finished Carl Buchheit’s book, Transformational NLP (2017).
I have just finished Carl Buchheit’s book, Transformational NLP (2017). It starts off well and, at first, I thought it would be a good book to recommend. But no. As it turned out, it is actually more of a great example of how people confuse NLP with other things and get it contaminated with mystical new age non-sense.
In the second chapter Carl uses a lot of my material about the history of NLP in the beginning of the book and gives a good bit of reference to Korzybski (pp. 22-25). He quotes some of what I have written about the history of NLP especially including the fact that it arose from the Human Potential Movement (p. 20). But then he gets some of his history mixed up and confused.
“Bandler felt frustrated that he was not very successful in teach others to do what he did.” (p. 29).
