This article is about the 4-Mat presentation model. If you are intending on being at NSTT in 2022, consider discussing the 4-Mat model with a licence Neuro-Semantic Trainer, as this model is experiential, rather than theoretical. Here I want to present two main points for the 4-Mat model. First, a brief overview of the 4-Mat approach. Second, a set of suggestions to reduce barriers and maximise learning opportunities for all of your learners. As Neuro-Semantic Trainers our “Treasure Chest” provides critical structures to present our trainings using the instructional design tool; the 4-Mat model was originally designed by Bernice McCarthy in 1980.

While the 4-Mat model has now lasted over 40 years, the purpose of the 4-Mat model education is not to make information accessible, but rather to facilitate learners to transform accessible information into useable knowledge. The 4-Mat model is an effective delivery method for presenting NLP patterns in a systematic way to enrich training presentations. The 4-Mat model includes 4 steps easy to recognise and the steps consist of Why, What, How and What-if.
