BLASTING THROUGH A BIAS

The biggest problem with the cognitive biases is how they are so seductive. By contrast, no mature adult would be seduced by the cognitive distortions. They are obviously childish, infantile, and are easily seen as silly distortions. They are the way children think; not adults. But this is not the case with the cognitive biases. These are the ways that most adults think. They are common place. You hear them in the news, in the movies, on talk shows, etc. And most of them fit the way our brains work. They are everywhere as common examples and so who would guess that they are so problematic for living? But they are.
