DEALING WITH AN AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE
In mid-March, my muscles started aching.
In mid-March, my muscles started aching. At first, I thought it was from hard workouts with my physical trainer or martial arts sessions. A week later, the muscles in my upper thighs, calves and shoulders hurt so much it was hard to move. Tying my shoes was challenging. It was difficult lifting myself from a bathtub. Now in my late seventies, I questioned if this was the end. Did my age catch up to me? A rheumatologist later confirmed I had polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR), an autoimmune disease.
