EFFECTIVE LEARNING STRATEGY

"Is my learning strategy effective?"

"Is my learning strategy effective?" That was the question on my mind when I attended the Master Practitioner programme held in Manila in August (13-25) 2018? At the beginning of the programme, Michael spoke about three Meta-Programs that may hinder people from learning. I talked about these in Framers #43 (Effective Learning and Meta-Programs). These are: Cognitive Meta-Program of Scale— Global. Cognitive Meta-Program of Relationship Comparison — Mis-matching differences. Choosing Meta-Program of Operational Style— Options.

Awareness of these Meta-Programs is extremely useful. With Meta-Programs, it about being flexible in the way of operating. How about the learning strategy?

I felt that my learning strategy was less than effective. The reason for feeling that way was that I very seldom ask questions because I felt that I have already understood. Only when someone asked a question that I realised that I didn't know that either. I didn't know that I didn't know! That was why I didn't ask any question. So, how do I know that I don't know or understand fully?
