Most of the times, Human Resources personnel are the ones who search and reach for an executive coach and request a proposal. What triggers the process of a coaching service, usually is that they see “a problem”, situation, behavior, or result not properly exhibited or met by one of their executives. Executive coaches have their own way to approach the situation. Mine starts with a preparation phase:

1. Company context

Do basic research over the company. Who they are, what they do, where they are, number of business units, products, services, head count and all information you can gather will give you some hints about its culture and context. Of course, you can always ask.
