FINISHING THE UNFINISHED BUSINESS OF PSYCHO-SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
I had been asked questions related to parenting on numerous occasions.
I had been asked questions related to parenting on numerous occasions. Those finally led to a series of online talks on Parenting in December 2020. One of the topics was Eric Erickson's Psycho-Social Stages. For some parents, this was something new. One parent, upon realising that she had not been aware of her child's Psycho-Social development, asked: "If my child had not experienced the development stages fully, is there something that I can do about it now?"
I suspect that the "Finishing Unfinished Business" pattern would have popped in your mind had someone asked that question to you too, wouldn't you? It was only after researching and teaching Eric Erickson's Psycho-Social Stages that I developed a better understanding of the pattern. That helped me to teach the pattern better, have greater interest and passion for training it. It also helped me to better understand people, developed more empathy towards them and inspired me to help people in their development process. Here’s a quick recap of the Erik Erikson's Stages of Psychosocial Development by Saul McLeod.
