I launched Neuro-Semantics with a few others on the premise of collaborating and did so in a year when the NLP community was not collaborating and when there were many forces interfering with collaboration. That was 1995-6 when the Bandler lawsuit began and when the factions inside of NLP were at their height. It was at that time that I made a call for collaboration, integrity, and apply-to-self. Bob and others joined us and Neuro-Semantics was launched.

Today I’m in China and if there is any country where the people seem to have the hardest time getting the idea of collaboration and then acting on it— it is here. Very strange. I find it strange because in a country where the culture is supposedly more group oriented than individual, and where the politics is officially communistic— I would think that collaborating would come natural and easily. But that is not so.
