HOW ACTIVE/REFLECTIVE ARE YOU AS A TRAINER?
I used to have an overly strong reflective meta-program.
I used to have an overly strong reflective meta-program. It was so strong that it occasionally pushed me into inaction. I wanted to read all of the books before getting started. I wanted to review manual just one more time. I wanted to be sure I know this material perfectly before I considered the possibility of running a training program. Can you relate with this at all?
When as a trainer do you postpone action because you don’t yet understand, you want a stronger plan, or you just don’t think you’re ready yet? When as a trainer do you fall into inaction? What holds you back from taking action?
Over the years I have learned to develop the ‘active’ side of this meta-program much more, and the rewards have been amazing. One of the biggest benefits of becoming more ‘active’ is that it opens you to feedback from the outside world. This feedback is the exact feedback that you need to take your skills and service to the next level.
