How many interviews have you facilitated over your career as a trainer? How many times have you been interviewed as a Neuro-Semantics trainer? Michael typically interviews some coaches and trainers on the business skills days of NSTT and ACMC and in my experience interviewing is one of the often overlooked skills to develop as a trainer as well as a powerful opportunity for collaboration.

In the NSTT training manual ‘interviewing’ is defined as “Bringing in a person with special skills or experience or an expert in an area and interviewing that person to understand how he or she was able to achieve a superior performance.” Within our community alone we have a wealth of people who have special skills and expertise just waiting to be interviewed, including yourself.

I have recently made a practice of interviewing two people per month, at least one being a Neuro-Semantics trainer, and the experience has been greatly rewarding. One of the facets that I love about interviews is that, when done well, it creates a win-win-win collaboration between interviewer, interviewee and audience. Consider each of these roles in the context of training.
