“Great speaking is about performance over content.”

Dr. Gary Genard

As NS trainers, public speakers, or sellers of our businesses, we need to regularly perform in front of different audiences. When teaching throughout the school and academic training, I learned to focus on delivering information, data, and other content, and I became very good at it. However, while focusing mainly on the content, I often disregarded the audience's level of interest and how they responded. Later, I discovered that the best trainers and performers live their messages with authenticity, the impact of their voices, and their body language. The best trainers and performers acted on the stories they delivered with a strong presence and influence.

Also, I am captivated by the authenticity and credibility with which speakers and performers who master their subject matter engage their audiences. Often, on demand, they adjust their performance accordingly to the level of audience engagement. With great delight, living the message was one of my recent focuses of learning while observing Michael Hall performing at the recent ACMC in South Africa and then watching the latest NSTT trainers’ presentations.
