There’s nothing like an audience capturing opening, at the start of your presentation. An opening that literally puts people into a wide-eyed state of high expectancy. It’s where the audience hangs onto your every word and gesture as you present your topic elegantly. Is that the type of opening you consistently deliver in your trainings?

Let’s assume that it is. Let’s assume that you definitely do open in an engaging manner, that’s appropriate for your audience. My guess is, if you are similar to me, that you spend hours thinking how you will open your presentation because you want to have the best possible beginning you can have – is that right?

It’s not the opening of your presentation that I want to talk about though, it’s the close. Although you may have a very polished opening, do you have a refined and memorable close? Do you spend as much time in planning your close as you do your opening? Have you structured your close in such a way the audience gain a sense of closure and they also know what the next steps are for them, as they leave?
