Watch the movie, The Founder, and you will can see a great example of the refusal to collaborate. The movie is about Ray Kroc and the McDonald brothers. The brothers had created a hamburger stand in California that was quite successful and when Ray Kroc saw it, he had a vision of franchising it and taking it national, and eventually international. But getting the McDonald brothers to agree to allow their idea to be franchised was a big headache for Ray Kroc. They were not innovative thinkers and so siad “no” to just about every idea offered. Yet Ray Kroc did it. His vision was much, much larger than theirs and as an entrepreneur he was willing to risk even his home to make it happened. To finance things, he mortgaged his home (without telling his wife!) as together they sold the idea of buying the franchise and expanding McDonalds.
