I want to begin with a confession: regardless of the weather, I exercise everyday. Not just some days; not just five days a week. I exercise every single day, and I have for years. For years, if I didn’t run, hike mountain trail, go to the gym, I would at least do crunches and push-ups. Why? Well, ultimately to be fully alive/ fully human. I do so to enable my mind–body to collaboratively work together.

But I did not start off that way. When I started do various exercises back in high school, I did not exercise regularly. I did so only when I had to (if I was on a team) or if I felt like it. Consequently by 25 I had become “too busy” to exercise, and what I was doing that time was continuing the Olympic weight lifting I started in college. That mean no cardio exercising, so by 25, my weight increased to 210. That waas when I began thinking about doing something about my weight. I thought about that for half a year and then bought some running clothes. Then I thought some more.
