Many years ago I first attended the NLP Conference in London. At that time it was sponsored by the ANLP (Association NLP UK). At that time Jo Hogg was the person in charge of the event and she was very skilled in putting the Conference together and making it a success. An indicator of her skill was that she immediately asked me if she could depend on me for supporting the Conference. I said yes. She then let me know that lending my name to it would be important. Of course, that made me feel important. And that was her skill— to make people feel important and needed and to make requests. What a great trait in a leader!

I have now attended the Conference 17 times ... going at my own expense ... and presenting workshops. Over the years, meeting people in NLP, meeting the Who’s Who of NLP, the Conference has come to feel like a Homecoming event. Well, it is. Year by year I get to catch up with people and also every year to meet new people— and sometimes new people that I have long heard of, and maybe read after, but never met.
