TAKING NEURO-SEMANTICS INTO THE FUTURE

While presenting some background on Neuro-Semantics and Meta-Coaching in China last week, one person asked me, “What does the future hold for Neuro-Semantics?” The question stopped me in my tracks. Within my mind my thoughts were going a hundred miles-an-hour: “The future ... It holds things for us ... Really? Hmmm. That seems to imply that it, the future, is doing things and we are the passive recipient of it.”
I didn’t say any of that out-loud, instead I rephrased the question and checked confirmation. “You mean what are we doing in Neuro-Semantics to create the future that we want? Or do you mean what future are we planning for and wanting?” The person immediately said, “Yes, yes.” I thought I was asking a clarification question—what future do we want, what are we doing to create it? Apparently the person wanted to know both.
