What a year! And what a ride the past nearly three years have been, what with the pandemic, the world-wide lock-down, and the economic recession invading nearly every country. Finally, after nearly three full years, we are slowly getting back to normal. At least that’s what most of us are hoping for—some normality to replace what has been some very abnormal times.
Looking back on 2022, I think it was a good kick-start for getting back into the swing of things. In February against all odds, we pulled off the first NSTT in three years—that was due in large measure to Mohamed Tarek and his determination to make it work. But it would not have happened without David Murphy, my co-trainer, and the 8 who served as Team Leaders. We were in Sharm El Sheikh in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt and while there, Putin invaded Ukraine and started a major war in Europe. And that insanity continues to this day; the good news, and what was unexpected, is that the Ukraine people have been fighting back and standing their ground.
