As Neuro-Semantics trainers we regularly train others how to access and manage their emotional states, but what does mastery of a state actually look like over time? Beyond initial access, how can we track the developmental process by which a state becomes fully integrated and embodied?

Over the past few years I’ve been exploring this question, both personally and with clients, and found it helpful to frame emotional state mastery as a progression through six levels. Much like levels in a game, each level builds on the last, and new possibilities are unlocked only after the previous level is embodied. So I began to wonder: If emotional mastery were a game, what would the levels be? How many levels are there? And for any emotion I want more of in my life, could I identify my current level and therefore be clear on the next level in my development?
