You cannot truly coach without asking meta-questions— and you certainly cannot perform as a skilled Meta-Coach without the ability to use meta-questions effectively. A meta-question stands in contrast with a primary question. A primary question grounds a subject in reality — what, where, when, with whom, and how. It indexes time, space, and person of an experience. By contrast a meta-question takes a person from the outside to the inside.
