THE BEST TEAM EVER

It probably sounds like an exaggeration, but it is not. The team that we had in Malaysia for NSTT this year, all 14 of them was, in my opinion, the very best one that we’ve ever had. And there’s several reasons for that.

First, this was the 25th NSTT since 1999 and after working out the details of how to train trainers, we now have a well-developed process. Someone asked me, “Who did you model?” Over the years I have studied the speeches of Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, Churchill, and many other famous speakers. I have also studied the literature. After all, I’m not the first to try to figure out what makes a great presentation and a great presenter.

Second, with each year we keep testing what is working and what is not. Six or seven years ago we introduced deliberate practice into the learning process. This requires immediate feedback in real time and the chance to integrate that feedback. But if a team member doesn’t know the distinctions, that person cannot give high quality sensory-based feedback. But our team this year--- was really well trained and experienced.
