THE NON-COLLABORATIVE
What do we do with those who will not collaborate?
What do we do with those who will not collaborate? You invite. You welcome them. You offer them opportunities to be a part of things, and if they still refuse, then what? This actually happens a lot. Over the years I have done that hundreds of times (literally) with NLP trainers— attempting to get them to get beyond the thought virus of individualism, self-reference, the lone ranger syndrome, scarcity mentality, etc. And all to no avail. I think you would be surprised at the names of some pretty famous NLP Trainers who have said “No” to collaboration! I was.
It is really a sad and pathetic situation when a person actually thinks and acts so individualistically that he or she cannot even imagine the benefits and values of working collaboratively, of being a team player, of working within a larger community so that they (and everyone else) can achieve so much more than alone or apart. I say “sad” and “pathetic” because it is limiting for the person and they probably do not even perceive that! It is selling themselves and their vision short and playing small.
