A long, long time ago, back before this century, Joseph Pine, and James Gilmore wrote, The Experience Economy: Work is Theatre and Every Business a Stage (1999). In this book, they posited that every business should “focus on delivering immersive and memorable experiences to their customers.” Why? Because what customers actually want is an experience and it is that experience which will actually drive economic growth in the future. They predicted that the economy would become increasingly an experience economy and that this would give leaders a new framework for understanding customers and how to invigorate them through experiential services. Since then, what has Apple Stores, Disney, LEGO, Starbucks, etc. done? They have created and sold experiences in addition to their products. This has ushered in a completely new way of thinking about customer experiences.

In revisiting this business/ marketing book, I thought about what you and I as Neuro-Semantics Trainers can do in making our focus experience. “How can we stand out from what others are doing in the field of personal development and skill development?” “How can we stand head and shoulders above what those in NLP are offering?”
