TRAINING AS EXPERIMENTS FOR EXPLORATION
In far too many places, the training of NLP has degenerated to a set of techniques and Practitioners as technicians who do things to people.
In far too many places, the training of NLP has degenerated to a set of techniques and Practitioners as technicians who do things to people. This seems to be especially problematic in Europe and in many of the places in the East— Japan, China, etc. Yet the idea of using a technique to effect some change in a person or group presupposes that the patterns that have evolved over the years in the field of NLP can be used to manipulate people. And this is what has happened in a lot of places— NLP practitioners using the patterns in a manipulative way, thereby giving NLP a bad reputation.
But that’s not how it all started. Long before someone compared the patterns and processes to human technology, and therefore techniques to use on people, the idea of a set of activities was thought of as human experiments to discover how things work.
