When you train, what are you training? Yes, you are training people to understand a particular skill and you are giving them practices so that they can learn how to become competent with that skill. And yes, to do that, you are teaching a particular model or theory or understanding. So again, what are you actually training?

Here’s an idea to consider—Are you not training thinking itself? After all, in order for people to understand the model or theory and to then understand the step-by-step process for learning it, they have to think and they have to think in specific ways. In fact, who are the people who attend your trainings and “do not get it?” Who are the ones who walk out and complain, “I just did not get it?” And does that not shout that they did not or were not able to think about the subject in the right way?
