“People don’t care what you know until they know you care”

Over the past five days I have been in Perth, Western Australia. I delivered at six separate events (breakfasts, luncheon, a magazine subscribers conference, and corporate events) sharing Neuro- Semantics with in excess of 500 people who have never heard of Neuro-Semantics and certainly never heard about me. To my delight, post each presentation I received overwhelming positive responses that have led to people wanting to know more about Neuro-Semantics. This response raised, for me, the question, “What was it that I did specifically that lead to the response?” I directed this question to the two wonderful people who promoted and hosted me here in Perth.

Their comments based on feedback received were as follows:

• You shared who you are before what you do – it built instant rapport.

• You spoke from the heart.

• You connected with the audience at a personal level.

• You spoke succinctly and confidently about the content.

• Your examples in relation to the content spoke directly to their own experiences and needs.
