WHEN YOU PREPARE FOR A TRAINING
Knowing how to prepare for a training, a workshop, presentation, keynote, etc.
Knowing how to prepare for a training, a workshop, presentation, keynote, etc. is just as important as delivering. In fact, preparing is probably more important because it is in preparing that you set your frames for yourself and your audience and you build frames-by-implication into your trainings. Given that, how are you at preparing? If you use an options meta-program, you probably do not prepare but do it by the seat-of-your-pants in the moment. Not a smart approach!
Now a few years ago at NSTT we began preparing some worksheets for trainers as they prepare for their trainings. What we have found is that those who fill out these worksheets do much better than those who do not. We also encourage those in the Master Trainer Track to do the same thing— to fill in this pages as they think through their presentations. Several this year asked if I can send them these templates because they wanted to save them and use them for every presentation they make.
• The first page covers the basic format that we call the 4-mat of what, why, how, and what if.
