WHEN YOU TRAIN YOU TRAIN INSIDE-OUT
Everything you and I do is actually inside–out.
Everything you and I do is actually inside–out. Yet more often than not, it does not seem that way. And, of course, there are lots and lots of stimuli, triggers, and contributing factors outside that seem to be very impactful on us. Add to that the developmental fact—we were born and lived outside–in for the first 14 to 18 years of our lives. Having not a single “thought” in our heads at birth, we spent years receiving information and experiences and slowly, ever-so-slowly learning to develop our own thoughts about things. That development of independent thinking and then choosing came over time and, when successful, leaves a person independent, capable of inter-dependence, self-determining, self-governing, and potentially a self-actualizing person.
Today, you as a trainer train inside–out. At least I hope you do! You learn certain information and skills and because you live them, you value them, and you want to see others experience the same resourcefulness. You train from out of the richness of your knowledge and skills and out of the richness of your love for people, joy of learning, curiosity of discovery, humility of all there is yet to learn, etc.
