As a trainer, those who attend your APG trainings will undoubtedly ask you, “Where did the idea of Accessing Personal Genius come from and how did it develop in the APG process?” In terms of the original source, it began with the NLP founders, Richard Bandler, Frank Pucelik, and John Grinder and from their modeling the expertise of three therapeutic geniuses, Virginia Satir, Fritz Perls, and Milton Erickson.

While they took three very distinct disciplines (e.g., Family Systems Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Ericksonian Hypnosis) the foundational principles within them led to the NLP patterns for “running your own brain.” In the beginning NLP was simply a Communication Model. As a model it focus on how a person thinks, processes, and encodes information.
