“YOU ARE NOT YOUR BACKHAND!”
“To see things as they are, we must take off our judgmental glasses.”
“To see things as they are, we must take off our judgmental glasses.” Timothy Gallwey (1972, p. 25)
We date the field of Coaching to 1972 when Tim Gallwey wrote the book The Inner Game of Tennis. It’s a great book about how to coach. If you haven’t read that book, I’d recommend that you put it on your reading list. What will you learn from it?
How to release judgment — which he calls the voice of Self-1. The value of awareness questions for unleashing a person’s innate potentials. How to access the state of relaxed concentration How to get into your genius coaching state —which Gallwey describes as giving yourself to Self-2 and releasing the internal chatter of Self-1. How to learn naturally and organically.
