YOU’RE A TRAINER, BUT ARE YOU A LEADER?
Training is great. It’s fun, it’s rewarding, and it enables your own development and learning.
Training is great. It’s fun, it’s rewarding, and it enables your own development and learning. I am always telling people at trainings, if you want to learn this stuff, go find someone and teach it to them. The same applies to me. I learn so much by training! So do you, don’t you? You also can make a good living with training, well, if you know how to market and sell your services and if you can deliver high quality trainings.
Training is also ego-stroking—after all, you get to be in the front of the room demonstrating your knowledge and skills, being asked your opinion on lots of things, not only the subject of the training. This too can be fun, and of course, it is dangerous. You could get a big head. Many do. So all of us have to be aware of this danger and make sure our sense of self is separate from what we do in training. Training is something we do, it does not make us a more important person.
