One of the biggest hurdles for professional and personal development that I have found is an attitude of complacency. The definition of complacency according to the Merriam Webster dictionary is “a feeling of being satisfied with how things are and not wanting to try to make them better.”

I see examples of this kind of thinking everywhere, it's the practitioner that “knows” the Meta- Model after being introduced to it once, it's the person who thinks of themselves as a “Master” after graduating the Master Practitioner and it is the person that says, “Yeah, I know that one!” when a pattern or model is presented again at a training, not giving it a second thought, and at the same time not actually being able to demonstrate how to use it or for what.
