BRING YOUR LEARNING STRATEGY

WITH YOU

Here is something amazing and very sad— many people in attending a training for the purpsoe of learning forget to bring their best learning strategy with them.  How about you?  When you attend a training, do you make sure that along with whatever else you pack and bring, do you bring your best learning strategy with you?  It’s important.  Otherwise you will not be getting your money’s worth.

Well that question brings up another question.  Do you know your best strategy for learning something new?  If not, then take a guess.  What do you think would be a good strategy for learning something new?  I’ll tell you what it is not.  It is not merely coming and passively listening.  If that’s what you do, then you are probably still using the same strategy you used in grade school, even college.  You enter the classroom, found your most comfortable place to sit, and then plopped yourself down on a chair waiting for the class to begin.
