BUSINESS VIA COLLABORATION
If there is one distinction that we in Neuro-Semantics have demonstrated that sets us apart from the way the field of NLP operates, it is our focus on collaboration.
If there is one distinction that we in Neuro-Semantics have demonstrated that sets us apart from the way the field of NLP operates, it is our focus on collaboration. Neuro-Semantics began as a collaboration and has continued in the twenty-one years since 1996 to operate collaboratively. One aspect of the vision that I wrote at the beginning was that in contrast to how Bandler and Grinder operated, we would work collaboratively. We would not fight among ourselves each claiming that we do “pure” or “true” NLP. And that’s why we took the basic NLP Communication Model and turned it into a conflict resolution process so that when we disagree, we can do so respectfully by being honorable and honoring each other. That’s the vision.
Yet collaboration also involves so much more. Actually, in modeling collaboration with Ian McDermott and Shelley Rose Charvet, I was surprised by how much more is involved in the concept of collaboration. We spent two years in that modeling project, Shelley had to step away for a health crisis, so I finished the book with Ian and since then have developed a training on Collaborative Leadership.
