DE-HYPNOTIZING UN-RESOURCEFUL TRANCE STATES

I often describe what we do in Neuro-Semantics as "de-hypnotizing," partly because it's fun to see people going into a trance from the word "de-hypnotize" and partly because that's what we actually do when we meta-state and meta-model the language of subjective experiences.

I often describe what we do in Neuro-Semantics as "de-hypnotizing," partly because it's fun to see people going into a trance from the word "de-hypnotize" and partly because that's what we actually do when we meta-state and meta-model the language of subjective experiences. Now, there are many kinds of trance states (a state of focused attention) that would serve us well to get de-hypnotized from. Many of these are already parts of trainings and some I suspect will be soon.

The trance of thinking of yourself as a victim or weak. The "poor me" trance: We already work with this one in the APG-traning through the power zone, responsibility to/for and meta-stating self patterns. This could be a strong trance even after repeating those patterns several times as it is common (in my experience) that people have invested a lot of time and energy in this idea becuase it gives a certain degree of comfort (although toxic). It can be very appealing to not have to take responsibility for making the necessary changes in a relationship, changing workplace or beginning a new habit.
