FROM “CERTIFICATE” TO ACKNOWLEDGMENT

The Certificates that we have been giving out in Neuro-Semantics since the beginning have all said, “ISNS certifies X [the person] has attended or achieved competency in Y [the subject matter of the training.”

The Certificates that we have been giving out in Neuro-Semantics since the beginning have all said, “ISNS certifies X [the person] has attended or achieved competency in Y [the subject matter of the training.” This is confusing. I have long known that it is and has been confusing, but have not known what to do. Until now.

Today in the meeting of the Leadership Team, David Murphy proposed that we change this. He talked and then the rest of us chimed in to validate what he said. David described people taking a three day course, like Introduction to NLP that we call “Coaching Essentials” and then announcing that they have a certification in Meta-Coaching. The problem is that “technically” they do have a “certification” in Module I, but it is only an attendance certification, not a competency based one. So, what to do?

David and the others recommended that we change the wording and the focus: The ISNS acknowledges X for Y course.
